More about Spiritual Direction

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction is the work of helping another recognize God’s ongoing personal communication, to respond to that divine activity, and to tell this everyday sacred story.

The structure of love in practice, Spiritual Direction is an interpersonal relationship in which we learn to grow, live, and love in the spiritual life.  This relationship involves three persons:  the Directee, the Director, and the Triune God.

You might be seeking Direction if…

You are seeking to deepen your relationship with the living God.

You are seeking to discern a next faithful step in your life.

You are seeking to grow in spiritual maturity and depth.

You are seeking to become spiritually “unstuck.”

What happens in a meeting with a spiritual director/companion?

Spiritual direction sessions usually last about 1 hour.  It is a confidential conversation between the director and directee, with the directee doing most of the talking.  The role of the Spiritual Director/Companion is to hold holy listening space, asking questions to help the Directee discover how they are experiencing God’s presence and prompting in their lives.

How much does a Spiritual Direction session cost?

Cost for a spiritual direction session is on a sliding scale, based on your ability to pay and the value you see in the service. I have clients who pay anywhere from $65-$125 per session.
